These works reinterpret pop art through the lens of expressionism, with the aim of moving the viewer away from the aesthetic comfort of the perfect icon and returning a living, imperfect and intense image.
The paint comes from the inside, without control. I do not want to represent them as they appear, but as they might feel if they were human: fragmented, cracked, expressive, deformed by memory, by what they mean in our collective imagination.
